Kia ora,

Just a quick note to inform you of what's been happening at Different Drum Studio. Most importantly I have moved and now have a fantastic new studio space in a double garage, with lots of room for the press etc.

Secondly The Artists Open Studio 2016 gave me the opportunity to get the studio up and running and open too the public. I had 277 visitors and sold just over $500 of work which was a real boost and enabled me to buy some top-of-the-range swiss Pfeil chisels.

Lastly I am taking part in 2 exhibitions coming soon. One with Optiv 101 at the Thistle Gallery in Wellington and again with Optiv in QWhanganui at Gallery on Guyton, based on the theme of the 7 deadly sins.

Shortly I will be looking at improving and updating the website and adding a shop function so keep your eyes peeled.

Whilst it seems like only yesterday, the Whanganui Artist's Open Studios is upon us again. This wonderful event held over the 2 last weekends of march gives the public the opportunity to visit the studios of local artists, see them working in their natural environment and maybe purchase that special work, they have always wanted!

This print is one of 3 in a series (No Queer Eye in Team) engaging with the issue of homophobia in sport. It depicts 3 openly gay sports stars, each with a different experience of prejudice and challenge. They were produced for the Optiv 101 exhibition, 'Optiv Team 101' and were presented at Space Gallery, Whanganui, New Zealand in early 2014. This print depicts Welsh Rugby Captain, Gareth Jones.

I am also pleased to announce that Different Drum Studio will be open as part of the Whanganui Artists Open Studios Event in March 2015 - Watch this space!
